Family Law

We ARE/WERE family.

LET’S FACE IT: DIVORCE IS NOW COMMON. FAMILY LIFE IS MORE STRESSFUL THAN EVER BEFORE

If you are going through a breakup, it can and will be painful. But there are practical things to think about and plan, like how to split your assets and who is to pay how much to whom? Or you need to protect yourself in a violent situation or claim as much as possible to support your children.

Talk to us and we can help you, as far as possible, to make it less “painful”. Divorce involves people and children, which the Court recognises. If the Court can see that most divorces can and should be settled, then why don’t we help you try?

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I want a divorce but am not sure what will happen to my child.

In Singapore, the Family Justice Courts applies the best interests of the child test, guided by
the Therapeutic Justice Model, which focuses on emotional wellbeing and long-term family
healing. You can trust that the Court operates fairly and holistically, considering both legal
and therapeutic factors. We will advocate for your child’s welfare while ensuring a balanced
and supportive outcome.

I am a victim of violence, what can I do?

If you are facing physical, emotional and/or verbal abuse in your household, you can file for a
Personal Protection Order (PPO). A PPO restrains the abuser from committing violence,
harassing or contacting you and your children. You may wish to contact us if you require
assistance in applying for one.

Know your rights. Understanding how the process works and what you can reasonably ask
for under the law can help you make informed decisions and avoid costly mistakes.
